Seamless coatings, the ideal solutions for the home and beyond

Are you thinking of giving new life to your home and are you fascinated by seamless coatings? Isoplam® offers you a wide range of solutions to create a seamless cladding that perfectly blends with your home. Here's everything you need to know about those continuous surfaces.

Coating without joints

First, let's start by understanding what joints are and why the interior design trend is to propose continuous floors and walls.

The joint is that space of separation between one tile and another. When a floor is laid, it is essential to choose the right joint color for the success of the home environment.

Therefore, joints create a sort of lattice or chessboard on floors and walls, that is often not appreciated by homeowners. In fact, it's quite common to intervene on existing floors and walls to eliminate the joints.

Seamless coating is becoming more and more used over the years, especially for the effect of continuity it gives to every environment. In addition to that, seamless coatings are antibacterial: a solution that combines aesthetics with practicality of cleaning, typical of continuous surfaces.

Isoplam® products give the best performances in terms of practicality and beauty.  Our Microverlay is a perfect example of seamless microcement covering.

Floors without joints

Why are seamless floors so popular? The reason for the success of this type of floor and wall covering is due to its main feature: it is a continuous surface.

In fact, surface continuity helps to make each space larger than its real size, as well as bringing numerous functional advantages.

How to choose the right seamless floor coating solution?

To obtain the effect of material continuity, the ideal solution is to use microcement.

In this way, you will be able to obtain a perfect floor or seamless wall covering. How? Let's see some examples.

Bathroom floor without joints

If you are aiming to change your bathroom floor, and you would like to opt for a seamless floor and wall covering, the low thickness Microverlay microcement by Isoplam® is the solution for you.

Microverlay is the innovative design surface with an extremely reduced thickness and an extraordinary aesthetic result. Isoplam® microcement allows you to create, in just 3 millimeters of thickness, splendid continuous surfaces without horizontal or vertical joints, for an impeccable effect. Its use is not only indicated in minimal and modern environments.

Microverlay goes perfectly with any architectural style: classic, country, rustic, industrial. The possibility of customization of this innovative material is incredible, there is no limit to the imagination.

In fact, it is possible to choose from an infinite range of colours, shades, and effects, such as glossy, matte, material, acidified and cloud-effect finishes. Furthermore, in environments such as the bathroom, the seamless floor will ensure ease of cleaning and hygiene of all surfaces.

Modern seamless floors

Modern seamless floors are perfect for use in minimal environments and beyond. In fact, thanks to its infinite customization possibilities, Microverlay is perfect for giving a touch of modernity and refinement even in environments with a classic taste. Its very low thickness makes Microverlay the ideal solution for renovating environments without having to remove existing surfaces. In fact, thanks to its adherence, microcement can be applied to any type of material, from plasterboard to ceramic or mosaic, from concrete to wood. Resistant to medium traffic and waterproof, Isoplam® resin cement can also cover floors and walls in any indoor and outdoor environment. The absence of gaps or joints makes Microverlay a continuous hygienic and easy to clean surface. In addition to that, it is also compatible with underfloor and wall heating.

And…that's not all!

Since Microverlay is water-based, it is also harmless both for people and environment.

Matt floor without joints

Do you like the matte effect but don't want to give up the seamless coating?

With Isoplam® Microverlay products you can choose the type of finish, glossy or matt, that best suits your tastes, as well as customize your seamless covering in the colors you prefer.

Seamless floor installation

The first step in laying a seamless floor or wall covering is to smooth and sand the existing surface. Afterwards, two coats of anti-humidity vapor barrier with interposed glass fibre mesh are applied. At this point, two coats of Microverlay Base or Medium are applied, with subsequent intermediate sanding and cleaning. On this surface, which is already joint-free, two coats of Microverlay Finish are applied with intermediate sanding and subsequent cleaning.

The final protective resin or breathable water-repellent protective with a matte or glossy finish makes your new seamless floor ready to be admired in all its beauty.

How much does it cost to cover a floor with resin?

The price varies a lot according to the type of customization and product chosen. Indicatively, the cost can be around a hundred twenty euros per square meter, obviously except for customizations and finishes.
