In the heart of East Flanders, in Hamme, a residential renovation project found in Microverlay by Isoplam the ideal solution to reinterpret the bathroom in a contemporary way. Not just a decorative coating, but a material system that combines architectural rigor and technical performance, perfect for transforming the space into a uniform, essential and at the same time functional envelope.
Applied continuously on floors and walls, the Isoplam microcement created a fluid, uninterrupted surface. This feature not only enhanced the perception of balance and homogeneity, but also brought tangible benefits in terms of cleaning and hygiene: the absence of joints completely eliminated critical areas for the accumulation of moisture and dirt, a decisive aspect in a delicate context such as the bathroom.
Continuity and safety even in the most complex architectural elements
One of the most significant interventions involved the large walk-in shower, a true testing ground for the material’s performance. Here, Microverlay was not limited to covering the walls, but was also used to create the recessed storage niche in the masonry. The ability to shape microcement seamlessly over complex architectural elements demonstrates its full application versatility. In addition, the water-repellent and non-slip finish ensures maximum safety and functionality even in areas constantly exposed to water jets and steam.
Thin and versatile: the value of microcement also in the bathroom
In just 3 mm of thickness, Microverlay preserves the structural qualities of concrete – mechanical resistance, durability and compatibility with radiant systems – while translating them into a minimal and sophisticated design language. The result is a bathroom that combines rigor and comfort, beauty and performance. A space in which microcement becomes an ideal solution for architects and designers looking for continuous, versatile materials capable of enhancing both the aesthetic and functional quality of contemporary living spaces.
