Skyconcrete, the elegance of the low thickness cloud effect floor

What are the origins of our Skyconcrete cloud effect floor?

Trends in the world of furniture are constantly evolving, so materials that were once unthinkable are becoming increasingly popular for the home environment. One of the most striking cases is the spread of the industrial style in recent decades: Americans started using concrete for residential floors during the 80s. From that moment on, an escalation that has led this form of design to be synonymous with contemporaneity and elegance.

But… what is the best solution to reproduce the industrial style in homes and beyond?

All the answers lead to Skyconcrete, our low thickness floor which reproduces a cloud effect. The indoor and outdoor versions of Skyconcrete are characterized by extreme versatility, even concerning the colors. We at Isoplam® offer you 34 shades to create the interiors and exteriors of your dreams.

What are the characteristics of a low thickness cloud effect floor?

A low thickness cloud effect floor undoubtedly stands out for its elegance. Thanks to the shades of color that characterize it, it reminds in some ways the unique style of marble. How is a cloud effect floor done?

The Nuvolato floor is obtained using a rather particular technique: a whole series of oxidizing agents and colored pigments are added to the cement mixture, which help to form the characteristic nuances of the low thickness Nuvolato. As already mentioned, Isoplam® puts 34 different shades and textures to recreate the desired design at your disposal.

Another key feature of Skyconcrete is its thickness: only 2-3 mm. This allows you to cover existing floors without having to resort to any type of demolition. Our Skyconcrete Nuvolato adapts to any type of surface with ease. Thanks to its remarkable versatility, it can be applied without problems to ceramic, mosaic, marble, concrete, sand-cement screed, and self-leveling floors.

Low thickness cloud effect floor with the Isoplam® method

Let's now take a closer look at the fundamental phases for the construction of a low thickness cloud effect floor. After having agreed on texture and color, our technicians will take care of the sanding phase of the surfaces in your spaces. This is a fundamental step to make the floor homogeneous and uniform.

The next phase, on the other hand, concerns the application of Skyprimer (dusted with 0.6 - 1.2 mm quartz), which can be defined as an adhesion promoter. Through this compound, it is possible to guarantee a solid anchoring of the substrate.

Then, a first coat of low thickness Skyconcrete Nuvolato floor is applied with a flexible squeegee that allows the mixture to be distributed equally over the entire surface with the appropriate thickness. A second coat of Skyconcrete is subsequently applied. This layer is worked with an Isoplam® trowel machine and, once dry, sanded with a single brush floor machine.

The last step concerns the application of the final protective material chosen according to the customer's needs. The result will be a glossy satin or matte flooring with cloud effect, able to give a unique style to your spaces.

The advantages of the low thickness Skyconcrete cloud effect flooring

So far, we have focused on the high aesthetic effect of the low thickness cloud effect floor, but what are its other advantages?

  • Versatile: it can be used in any context, from residential spaces to commercial and industrial environments.
  • Safe: the materials used for the realization of the low thickness cloud effect floors are absolutely hypoallergenic and non-toxic. The monolithic surface and the consequent absence of joints limits the proliferation of microbes and bacteria. This feature makes Skyconcrete an optimal solution even in spaces frequented by children, especially in hospital contexts.
  • Anti-dust: It's time to say goodbye to annoying dust on the floors. The lack of joints on the surface avoids the accumulation of dirt.
  • Easy to clean: The perfectly smooth surface is super easy to clean. You can just wipe it with a cloth soaked in water and Isoplam neutral detergent.
  • Non-slip: Skyconcrete protects from slipping.
  • Weather resistant: Skyconcrete can also be applied outdoors. Thanks to its impermeability, it resists water and sudden changes in temperature and humidity, elements capable of causing cracks and defects on other types of flooring in the long term. The resistance to atmospheric agents makes the low thickness cloud effect pattern ideal for covering balconies and terraces, but also for creating garden paths.
  • Hard: once again, the composition of the low-thickness cloud effect floor ensures excellent resistance to foot traffic. A feature that makes it ideal for application in offices and commercial spaces.
  • Minimally invasive: the possibility of superimposing the low thickness cloud effect floor on an existing surface allows you to save on expensive demolition and disposal costs with the risk of damaging underlying pipes and systems.

The low thickness Skyconcrete Nuvolato floors know how to combine a contemporary design with the efficiency of an advantageous and high-performance product. We have developed numerous projects around the world over the years, both in residential and commercial sectors: let yourself be inspired by Isoplam® solutions and give a touch of elegance and modernity to your spaces.
