Project: in the historic center of Udine, the 16th-century residence Casa Cavazzini has been transformed into the home of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of the city thanks to the renovation project by Gherardi Architetti, based on the original concept by Gae Aulenti. The spaces, now renewed and intended to host permanent collections, temporary exhibitions, and artistic events, required surfaces able to interact with the architecture while at the same time ensuring safety and durability in a prestigious public context.

For the outdoor areas, the Terrazzoverlay® XL maxi Venetian system by Isoplam was chosen, in the brushed finish specially designed for outdoor use. This low-thickness solution reinterprets the tradition of Venetian terrazzo in a contemporary way, combining weather resistance, color stability, and anti-slip safety in just 2–5 cm. The continuous, material surface enhances the linear elegance of the building, ensuring walking comfort and easy maintenance, perfectly in tune with the museum’s vocation as an open, accessible space at the service of the artistic and cultural community.
